"It says when you have reached rock bottom, feel free to wallow in the word nadir," says Morgan in the thread about words for "nothingness". There must be quite a few words and phrases for "hitting rock bottom". Such as?

As always, I have been trying to sing my way out of this one.... When you hit rock bottom You've got two ways to go Straight up and sideways I have seen my share of hard times And I'm letting you know Straight up is my way from "Rock Bottom" by Wynonna Judd

Here's a song that describes "rock bottom"... That's Rock Bottom When this life makes you mad enough to kill That's Rock Bottom When you want something bad enough you'll steal That's Rock Bottom When you feel you have had it up to here Cause you mad enough to scream but you sad enough to tear from Rock Bottom ~~Eminem

Shufitz, Take it from my experience, some of them work & some of them don't (ie, my Muslim vs. Moslem thread). Perhaps an earlier thread was too similar? nothingness thread Specifically about "nadir"--it is also a medical term used by oncology specialists to indicate the lowest point that the blood count (especially white blood cells) will reach when patients are on chemotherapy. Obviously, the nadir can be a very dangerous point for the patient. In itself, I think "nadir" is an interesting word.
