Here are the entries for this week's game. Pick one. Well, you really have no choice.

Question:
One.
When I went with my girlfriend to Vail
I believed I’d find Dark Star’s fine ale.
But my hopes were soon beaten —
All I found was Rob Eaton
And his orchestra, Dark Star for sale.

Two..
A horny old skier in Vail
Found himself sitting in jail
He found a young chick
And in went his dick
In a nice piece of San Quentin quail.

Three
A precocious young call girl from Vail
Would serve only the most expert trail
Racing downhill with ease
As she kneeled on her skis
In a gale— even hail— made her sale

Four
When skiing a mountain in Vail
So smoothly that trail I did sail...
Until I went pale;
My skiis they did fail -
Too much texting and ale prevail!

iFive
A venerable vicar from Vail
Was once heard to wickedly wail,
While up on his perch,
Yes, right there in Church,
When his knob got nicked on a nail!

Six
A frail and pale Yale girl in Vail
Had sex prices tattooed on her tail.
And the handicapped blind
Were quite lucky to find
There the same information, in Braille.

Choices:
One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six

I don’t think there is any doubt about the winner.
Here are the entries:

1. Richard English
2 Geoff
3 Bethree5
4 Kalleh
5 Greg S
6 Mine, which I noticed as I wrote this has an extra uS in the first line (and).

I’ll wait a few days to post another, but if anyone else has a suggestion, jump right in and start another game. Don’t wait for me.

A worthy winner. Incidentally, did anyone check the truth of my statement about Rob Eaton and the Dark Star Orchestra?

Bummer! I was sure I had this one covered. Triple alliterations in Lines 1 and 5, quadruple alliteration in Line 2 ("once" being the less obvious 4th), and an extra rhyme on -ick for the second last stressed syllable of each of those lines, and a bit of blue humour to boot, and the only vote I got was probably Proof, who couldn't vote for his own, which he no doubt really thought was better than mine, anyway. Next time perhaps.

Regards Greg

Oh, Greg, I hear you! I thought I had mine covered, too, since I was the only one to address the actual city. I don't find limericks about cities nearly as interesting if it's just that the limerick was set in the city. Oh well, as Greg says, next time...

And, Greg, I voted for yours! I loved the alliterations.

Well, mine did address a facet of the city since Vail is where Rob Eaton comes from. And as soon as I realised that his is the Dark Star Orchestra the limerick became obvious, looking at the Dark Star Brewery Tap as I am right now.

Not to drag this too far off topic, but this moring on BBC southeast news there was an item about breweries. Apparently there are now 40 breweries in the southeast and, throughout the UK there are now over 1,000 breweries.

This has all come about because of the actions of just four men who, 40 years ago, founded CAMRA. They are all deserving of a medal - but those are, of course, reserved for sports "stars".
