China Lake is the location for the next round of the limerick game. Please don't feed the animals and be sure to keep your windows closed at all times. Thank you.

Aha! Done! (Thought I'd best reply in this thread though, because of the unusual way the forum displays which threads have had the most recent contributions.)

Good! This will be a lot harder than just China! It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

You write a limerick in which the last words of line one, two or five (ie, the A line) are the location of current round; in this instance, China Lake. You then PM it to whoever is hosting that round; which happens to be me this time*. The host then accumulates the limericks and posts them in a new thread, accompanied by a poll. You vote for your favourite and the winner then chooses the next location and hosts the next round. *But that was an accident, it shouldn't be me really. EDIT And also, hello I'm new too. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Alphabet Soup,

A minor correction: it doesn't have to be only line one; it could also be line two or line five. In other words, the A-rhyme lines, but not the B-rhymes. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Alphabet Soup and Metic, there's also another game in the works, the Bluffing Game. Could you both send me a fanciful definition of the word, "anserine?" Don't look it up until the "daffynitions" and the real one are posted. Thanks! Now back to our regularly scheduled program! I violated all my own rules in this limerick. Heck, maybe I'll even vote for my own this time and make it unanimous!

Sounds like a fine idea to me I have four limericks so far, so I'm hoping for a few more still. (hint hint)

Shu is writing one. He came up with such a fabulous rhyme. I wanted to steal it, but I was a good girl and didn't.

Steal it! Steal it! Steal it and write a better limerick with it. Mwahahahaha EDIT Better than his I mean, of course.

I'll get one in in a day or two. Too busy to think just now! It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

I'll write one soon, but at present I have been side-tracked by the fact that Bob's book of our game has just arrived in the mail and I am trying to write a limerick-style tongue-in-cheek comment about it. Regards Greg

Thanks chaps. I now have lots of limericks in my hot little hands, but shall wait for Shufitt's submission before posting the poll. I hope that's agreeable to everyone.
