My next destination is Hove. This south coast town is actually part of the better-known Brighton, although Hove residents generally consider themselves a cut above the hoi-polloi of Brighton.

Hove rhymes with "drove", not with "love".

I have now received several entries and, for the moment, will leave them all. I confess I didn't imagine for one moment that anyone - even Bob - would use the mythical Slithy Tove as a rhyme. I can think of at least a dozen perfect rhymes in UK English without resorting to words describing fictional characters.

I'm with Bob, Geoff, yours should remain in the game.

Seven limericks now - we are getting near to a votable level. But some of the "usual suspects" have yet to submit, so I'll hold on a while longer.

Thanks Richard - I have one forming in my head, but still a punchline short of completion.

I'll give it until after the weekend before I post the poll, just in case there are any late entries.

Finally...mine is in.

At a quick count I now have 9 or ten so I'll post the poll tomorrow. Today I am off to London and won't have time.
