Not going to be a great competition with just one entry. Come on people this has to be the easiest word to rhyme that we have ever had. I just thought at twenty one syllable ones in ten seconds.

So long as you're not in Portland, OR! Leeds is much safer, despite Boris J.

A singular offering

He didn't just follow, he'd lead
And he acted as fitly he seed
If you gave him his head
He'd do just what he said
And he'd mean it in word, yes indeed.

(C'mon, folks, I'm trying to lead, here...)

As things stand at the moment you shouldn’t put money on it. Even with this easy word I am not exactly buried under a mountain of entries.

To encourage you, here is the tale of a horse breeder named Deeds...

Deeds breeds steeds, heeds steeds’ needs, feeds steeds weeds,
Deeds proceeds, interbreeds, needs steeds’ seeds
Deeds succeeds, “Steeds’ stampedes!”
Speeds exceeds, feeds Deeds’ greeds
Deeds cedes deeds, pleads, concedes! Greed’s Deed’s creeds.

Deeds, wearing tweeds, reads Nibelungenlieds to his steeds whilst quaffing several meads?

Nah, that's silly.

I struggled too, Bethree, and I just didn't know why. It does seem to be an easy word to rhyme.

I know a young writer from Leeds
Who says “I know just what we needs!
Ye can do it - I know ‘em -
Just send in a poem!”
And we should do just as he pleads.

pour encourager les autres...

There was a young fellow of Leeds
Who always took care of his needs
Though he wasn't a farmer
This seducer and charmer
Liked to be spreading his seeds

Do I detect a bit of England here? I'll know for sure if you say you are at university or in hospital. Wink

I do hear you though. My Leeds ones just aren't good either. What is it about that word? I like yours, Bob! You should have entered it!

The host doesn't enter. That would be terribly bad form.
