I decided to expand our horizons and get some really out of this world limericks. For thoe who need to know the stress pattern is AL-pha cen-TAU-ri and the rhyme for British contributers is TORE-ee. I suspect that for US contributers it may be TOH-ree but that's more of a guess. Anyway my adjudication is this: rhyme it however you want to and we'll see what happens. As always limericks in PMs to me. Bob "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

I hope no offense was taken. I thought it was funny; but I am sure everyone knew what you meant.

At the moment I have four limericks from three people. Come on - give me more. Here's one to help you along A newshound from Alph Centauri Came to Earth seeking journalists' glory. He'd heard it was rife With intelligent life: It wasn't! He left with no story. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

Oh, no offense was taken, Tom. I admit that my comment was rather thoughtless. Of course we all want to enter our best ones. However, some of these places inspire a great limerick from me (even though others might not think it's great ), while others not so much. I need more inspiration for this one.

I haven't submitted yet, but will try to get one in before the end of the light year. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

Still don't have enough - great, good or mediocre - limericks to make a game of it. It's now five from three. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.
