Does that really count? Most people call it an "AK", rather than a Kalashnikov. At least Thompson's was a "Tommy" gun. Funny how many weapons are known by the maker's name -- Colt, Browning, Deringer, Smith & Wesson, Bowie, Maxim, Gatling, Hotchkiss, Luger, Remington, Lewis, Winchester...

Interesting. The only contact I've had with guns is the news and current affairs programmes and it's always referred to as a Kalahnikov, or sometimes an AK47. I have never heard "AK".
