I've just been watching the TV adaption of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather. Right near the end I accidentally turned on the closed captions. This is a sample of what I saw. (Actual dialogue followed by caption in brackets.) There's a rocking horse in the window. (Mocking walsh in the window.) That's a special order I made for Lord Rodney. (That's a special order I made full lowell much wood) No, I will take it as it is. (No I moved to a cute as you.) His nose frozen to the window. (His nose rose to the window.) Happy Hogswatch sir. I saw a version of the live action Death Note (2006) where I think the subtitles went through Chinese on their way from Japanese to English...
