World champion is NOT the winner of the completely inappropriately named World Series it is the title given to the winner of the World Baseball Classic. This IS currently the USA but before that was the Dominican Republic and before that it was Japan.

I was being facetious. The Baltimore Colts were an American football - NOT baseball - team. Why it's called football I'll never know.

As for your original post, it does go to show just how hubristic and ignorantwe are in the USA.

My knowledge of American sports is so extensive that the Baltimore Colts could have been the state square dancing champions for all that I know.
