I said today that I have no compunction about something, and then my husband said, "Well, I have a compunction." It made me think, I've never heard "compunction" used positively like that. I've only heard "no compunction." Shu agreed with me. Have you heard "compunction" used positively ever?

I remember my mother using it both ways, but nobody else. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

Isn't "compunction" the mark used to separate items in a sentence?

Really, Geoff? I guess people do then. I had never heard it used in the positive.
