Is that any different from some other type of scar? If so, how so?

Shu, I can't find much on it. I hadn't heard of it before. It appears to be a synonym of scar, though.

The few times I've heard it used, it was simply a fancy synonym for scar. A friend of mine made a film called Cicatrix.
