Actually no, I think it's a blend of patronage and Patreon

It's new then because it wasn't even in Onelook.

I don't understand where the "blend" comes in since the trailer only seems to mention "patron", not "patreon", unless I missed it. Why was it necessary to coin a new word when the old one was perfectly valid? One of the more ironic things about the "patreonage" idea on YouTube is that it has been championed by bloggers about religious hucksters. They've complained about televangelists bilking the masses through infomercials but now use the same methods to line their own pockets.

I noticed what appeared to be a brand name, "Patreon," in the upper left hand corner in that link. Makes at least as much sense as "Xfinity."

Patreon is a web site. Goofy's link shows who they are.

I'm not sure what trailer you're referring to.

Probably because 'Patreon' can be trademarked. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.
