I was recently at a conference where the speaker talked about no "CPA," which apparently is "continuous partial attention." Have you heard of it? It refers to texting, checking Blackberries and iPhones, emailing, etc., during meetings.

I never heard of it. When I first saw your post, I thought of multitasking. Here's what Wikipedia says.

I thought, "Certified Public Accountant."

Yes, I thought certified public accountant, too, but the speaker seemed to think everyone knew what it meant.

Always use the entire title before using the abbreviation. Then everyone will be on the same page.

Either way, I just wondered if others had heard that phrase. I guess not.
