I just saw a documentary about the battle for Singapore during WW2 and one British commentator said the Japanese commander had General Percival "bandjaxed" by his use of aggressive tactics. Has anyone ever heard that term before?

I've usually seen it spelled "banjaxed", but yes, it seems quite a commonplace term to me.

Going by how the man pronounced it. But what does it mean?

But, mind you, please don't use it as a synonym for decimate. Wink

Well, in all fairness to us mere mortals, it did say it is chiefly Irish and informal. You guessed it, I haven't heard of the word either.

I really like it, though: "A mess or undesirable situation made as a result of incompetence." Boy, could I have used that word in the past...and likely will in the future. I can think of a use for it right now...

Neither had I. Good word though.
