I'm reading _Naughty or Nice_ by Eric Jerome Dickey, and he uses the word "fugly", meaning f-ing ugly. We used this word as high school/college students, but I'd never heard it used outside of our own small circle. Do you all know this slang? I'm just wondering how wide-spread it is.

I've heard it, but not for some time. I once worked with someone named Doug (Douglas) who used it so much that the rest of us took to calling him "Foug."

It's familiar here.

However, the f-combination that particularly tickles my fancy is an Australian slang, "no wuckers" -- short for "no wucking furries".

Well, as Monty Python was wont to say: "What a silly bunt."

Shu says it's "familiar here." I haven't heard it, even from Shu's mouth (thank goodness!).

Shu must be sheltering you from the baser elements of Chicago life. I think that's so sweet!

I've never heard it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not used here.
