DIABOLIC When anabolism and catabolism are out of balance

ANTIGONE When your Greek mother's sister leaves.

PS: It could be the American Motorcycle Association of the Academy of Model Aeronautics in your last one, Hab. I guess it depends on whom you hang out with. They're all superb, however!

Maybe that should have been "I pulled the wings off a couple of pterodactyls," said the DINOSAUR. Adds a couple of extra layers.

Don't feel bad; it was three am before I associated Agatha Christie with "die, ssacharide."

Now, getting REALLY oblique, DILBERT Murdering Mr Hubbard via poisoned cartoon character.

...

Actually, I meant to invoke "Dis a charade" as uttered by Eliza Doolittle ( "ā", not "ī")...

And I have only just now learned about your fin-de-siècle Hubbard. Until now the only ones I knew of were L.Ron, the sci-fi author (and other notorieties), and Old Mother, the hungry-dog owner. Live and learn, I always say.
