I read this in a paper today and had to chuckle a bit at the use of the word:

From these studies, NCSBN in conglomeration with the Metrics and Outcomes Committee, developed the Approval Guidelines.

I agree. I don't think that's an appropriate use of the word. Conjunction would have been much better. I suppose they have made the "more syllables looks more intelligent" error.

It's appropriate if you're a bunch of rocks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conglomerate_(geology) There is the saying, "Dumb as a box of rocks." Wink

Sounds like they had quite a tussle over those guidelines.
