Thanks for that Richard. I did wonder. I also wondered if buff is used in the USA in that sense, but when I checked the COED I found that it originated in New York. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Thanks, Asa and Kalleh! To be honest I didn't expect to win - no-one here would ever rhyme Corolla with holler, I just assumed some kind of American accent might work. The double-banger name was a challenge all right. I agree with Bob - great limerick, Asa! I like the way you used the place name.

I've just heard back from the State Hospital for the Incurably Strange. They say they don't have room for you. They suggested that you try the White House instead. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

They need limericks? Do you write yours at Ten Downing Street then?

There are writers of note with Obama And they can fill his speeches with drama. But the Prez won't wtite hymns He prefers writing lims 'Xcept they all seem to start with "Yo mama." "...is so ugly we have to tie a pork chop on her leg to get the dog to play with her."
