I've always used card sharp.

How about you. Sharp or shark?

I've always used card sharp and had never seen the other. The OED suggests that the term is originally US and from card-sharper.

The Game Show Network often presents old replays of this program, from the '70s.

I've seen both variants used. I'd probably use card sharp myself.

As might be expected, Wikipedia has an article.

I've always used card shark. I don't remember hearing card sharp. I probably have and just heard it as card shark. I noticed the Wikipedia article included another variant: card snark.
