How about us starting a new word game? I suggest perhaps one where a word is posted that has some demonstable connection with the word posted in front. For example, FOOT > STAMP > TIMBRE (French for stamp) > VOICE, and so on. I'd say that there should normally be no need for us to explain the connection, but we can if we want, and if the connection is doubtful others can challenge. Much of the fun might be in thinking of convoluted but valid connections. Should we limit it in other ways, do you think, perhaps by using only (say) a maximum of five letters? In addition perhaps we should only use whole words: no abbreviations or anagrams. Also, the connection shouldn't be as simple as using the ame first or last letters as the earlier word. What does everyone think? Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Of course I can't speak for "everyone," but just speaking for myself I agree. Post the rules, arnie, and let the game begin.
